WEEK 1
Introduction to control systems: the concept of feedback, feedforward. Classification of systems: Static – Dynamic, Linear – nonlinear, Time varying time - invariant, causal – non causal, examples of systems.
WEEK 2
Concept of Signals in Control: Convolution and system response, Laplace and Inverse Laplace transforms, solutions of Ordinary differential equations.
WEEK 3
System Modeling with Transfer function, properties of transfer function. Stability of dynamical Systems, BIBO stability, concept of poles and zeros.
WEEK 4
Time domain analysis, Response of first order systems, Step response of second order systems, Time response specifications, effect of adding additional zeros and poles, steady state analysis

Prof. Ramkrishna Pasumarthy

Professor , Department Of Electrical Engineering , IIT Madras

I am currently a Professor at the Control and Optimisation group , Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras. I obtained my PhD in systems and control from University of Twente, The Netherlands and held post doc positions at University of Melbourne and UCLA.

My current research interests lie in the area of Network Sytems optimization and control, Control of BrainNetworks, Data Driven methods in systems and control, Connected and autonomous vehicles.

I am a associated with the Robert Bosch Center for Data Sciences and Artificial Intelligence at IIT Madras

I am also coordinator for NPTEL
