Electronic Product Design

The course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of electronic product design, with a focus on embedded systems. It integrates simulation tools (SPICE), CAD tools (KiCAD), design philosophy, testing, and EMI/EMC considerations to enable students to design, simulate, and troubleshoot electronic products in real-world applications.

Module 1
Rectifiers, protection circuits, heat sink design, and design of Linear Regulators and DC-DC converters (Buck/Boost/Flyback)
Module 2
Design Base Driver and Gate Driver Circuits for BJTs and MOSFETs respectively. Design of Snubber circuits, and basics of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).
Module 3
Magnetics design (inductors and Transformers).
Module 4
Analog Signal Processing ( Design of Op-Amp Circuits and error budgeting, Anti-Aliasing filters, and 4-20 mA current transmission.)
